FAQs
Will it be difficult to learn the MindWise skills?
The skills are not complicated but they are very different from other strategies you’ve tried and they will challenge your habits. So it isn’t difficult to learn but you may feel some resistance or ambivalence to fully engage. We address this directly in the program because change is hard. You should expect that transforming the way you relate to your mind (thoughts, emotions, sensations) requires persistence and dedication.
What if MindWise doesn’t work for me?
MindWise isn’t a magic pill so as they say in AA “it works if you work it”. If you are dedicated to the skills & practice, you will see shifts in the way you are managing your mind- almost immediately. Sometimes being more aware of the mind also brings up some hidden hurdles that you’ll need to address as you move through your growth. This may feel like you are taking some steps back but to fully transform your life, you don’t want to skip over areas where you have potential for growth.
Do I need to have had psychotherapy or practice meditation to benefit from MindWise?
No! MindWise is based on psychology, neuroscience & mindfulness but you don’t need to have any experience with these concepts to benefit tremendously from MindWise. The program was created to simplify the skills of managing your thoughts & emotions.
Some clients decide they’d like to add psychotherapy or formal mindfulness practice (yoga, meditation) as an additional growth opportunity (while they are learning how to be MindWise).
What if I want ongoing support after my initial MindWise program?
Mindwise Mastermind (year commitment) is offered as an ongoing growth group for those who’ve completed the courses and/or group coaching. You can apply at anytime to explore if it would be a good fit for you.
